▶여러 개의 바닥레벨을 가진 단층주택, 개방된 공간

 

대지 동서방향으로 6m의 높이 차이를 5개의 층으로 구성된 단층주택으로 계획하였다. 건물이 경사진 곳에 자리 잡고 있어 전면도로를 따라 위층과 중앙의 거실, 아래의 자녀방이 모두 연결되어 있는 단층집이다. 개방적이고 서로 접근이 용이한 공간구성을 얻었다. 강렬한 컬러콘크리트 외관은 붉은색 흙을 언 정상에 끌어올린 것 같은 토속적인 모습을 하고 있다.

다층보다는 단층으로 구성되어야 했기에 넓게 건축면적을 많이 가져가야 했다. 한 층이 넓어지면 자연스럽게 중정이 생기는 평면으로 계획된다. 넓게 펼쳐진 단층집에는 다섯 군에 정도 되는 틈과 같은 중정을 만들어 실내공간에 다양한 빛을 받아들이면서 충분한 채광을 확보하고 있으며, 주변의 보행로와 도로로부터는 프라이버시를 보호하고 있다. 어려움이 많았을 대지의 특징을 잘 살린 것 같다.

 

Single-storey-like architecture on a slope. The site locates on top of a hill in the Northern part of Okinawa. Although it used to have a panoramic view of the vast plain and ocean from this area, since dramatic urbanization has changed the scenery in this region, it barely has visibility of the ocean anymore.  A house for a family of 5 was requested on the sloping land. The initial proposal was to build a multi-storey building to regain the vista toward the ocean. As it seemed a sensible solution to construct a multi-storey building to reduce the building footprint and amount of groundwork on a slope at the beginning.
